Why I am running

Daniel Pershick is running to represent Barrhaven West and Barrhaven East as the Zone 3 trustee on the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

Families should not need inside knowledge to understand a board decision, find student support, or get a clear response. I want to make those systems easier to navigate and keep the public conversation grounded in what helps students learn.

The board is entering an unusual term. While provincial supervision continues, trustees do not hold their normal governance authority. That does not make representation optional. It makes listening, advocacy, and public accountability more important.

How I will approach the role

I will prepare carefully, work constructively with people who disagree, and report back in plain language. When elected governance returns, I will judge proposals by their effect on students, their evidence, their cost, and whether the public can understand the trade-offs.
